A Fresh Coat of Paint

There is something so pure about a fresh coat of paint, something so elegant.  A wall in a house is something I usually take for granted.  Until it is so dirty and dingy.  Then I feel the urge to paint it.  A freshly painted wall I never take for granted.

My wall, she stood there, elegantly showling off her new silky gown.  It was call “Westhighland White”, designed by SherwinWilliams.  The glossy new gown was understated, yet nobody could pass by without silently wondering “where can I get one just like it?”

I can’t take my eyes off that wall now.  I have already forgotten the old color, the old smudges, the old nail holes.  A fresh coat of paint is like spring, a rebirth.  A do-over.

I wish I could be a wall and get a new coat of paint.  I want a glossy, silky, pure new layer.  I want my old smudges forgotten.  I would like a do-over.

The ancient wisdom calls:  “Come now, let us reason together.  Though your (old smudges) be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.”  The ancient wisdom is as fresh today.  The Lord promises a fresh start.

I like that.  I want to fully embrace a life with fresh starts.  I want to fully inhabit a life with ancient brand-new wisdom.

I hope you do too!

Blessings, Vicki
