Praise to the God of All Comfort
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,(A) the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort
Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. (verse 4)
God the Father showers us with compassion and comfort when we are distressed. Yes, He does that to bless us and help us.
But He never intends for the compassion and comfort to end with us.
We need to help others. Reach out. Look for the distressed. Seek them. Welcome them. Share with them all the compassion and comfort you can.
Because it was not withheld from you.
If you are stuck in self-pity, look for someone to comfort.
It is a sure way to continue your own healing.
Recycling was God’s idea.
He never wastes a hurt.
