Bare Legs

I apologize to the world for baring my pasty white unshaven, unmoisturized legs today.  But it is March. In Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  And its been unseasonably warm all week.  Today it is sunny and 65 degrees.

So, I am on my 2nd floor porch laying on cushion, in my capri pajama bottoms, soaking up the sunshine.  It is not a pretty site, these almost 53 year old legs.  They almost look like fake legs, they’re so pathetically pale.

Yet, these legs are all mine.  I have lived in them a long time.  They have carried me around.  We’ve danced together, swam together, ridden bikes together, walked, skipped, rocked fussy babies.  So what if my knees look like shrunken heads?  We’ve bent under the weight of the world together.

My life is not a beauty contest, it is an endurance run.  I think my legs will hold up well.  And by the end of the day they may start to look more like real human legs.  Anyway, my legs and I are really enjoying the feel of sunshine connecting with skin.

This wonderful feeling makes my life feel full today.

Blessings, Vicki

Working the soil with a shovel in the warmth of the sun to prepare for the flowers I will plant in late April==early May is a beauty in my basket.
